Much like hobbits, I love singing a merry “doing” song. Walking, exploring, dancing, eating, etc. I also heartily believe everyone could use more Bing Crosby in their life. His humor, deep timbre, and genuine goodguy-ness are charming and dear. Lately I have been singing a wandering song from 1949’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Courtwhere Bing, Sir Sagramore, and the king go into hiding and disguise themselves as tramps. In this case, the business of doing is doing nothing, which I can relate to.

We’re busy doing nothing, working the whole day through
Trying to find lots of things not to do
We’re busy going nowhere, isn’t it just a crime
We’d like to be unhappy but we never do have the time!
And only an hour for lunch… 😉
Now that's some serious tramping! And if you keep tramping South to Argentina, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Pope before he settles permanently into The Vatican. Dad
